Evaluating Your Report


Before submitting your work term report, please review it to ensure you’ve included all the required sections, and view the form we will use to evaluate your work term report.

Make sure that the work report does not contain any confidential information, unless you have received approval from your supervisor and your co-op co-ordinator.

The work should be your own. You will paste the following statement into your report, and we will use anti-plagiarism software. "I hereby verify that this work term report consists primarily of my own, original work. Where I have used material from other sources, I have identified and credited those sources."

Format
  • includes all the required components, as listed in the section on format
  • looks professional
Quality of Content

  • provides a description of the organization
  • describes your position and includes a discussion of your experience
  • relates your learning to your discipline
  • includes relevant charts, tables or graphics, and citations 
  • explains your research topic or special project thoroughly and completely, if applicable
Literary Quality

  • contains correct spelling and grammar. (Although software tools for checking grammar and spelling are useful, they are not always reliable. We recommend that you check your spelling in a reputable dictionary such as the Canadian Oxford Dictionary. You can find grammar tips on numerous Web sites, including Laurier’s Writing Centre.)
  • is written in a clear and concise style
Quality of Analysis

  • discusses your development of skills
  • charts your progress toward your learning objectives
  • provides a reasoned development of arguments, if applicable
  • provides suitable conclusions and recommendations
  • demonstrates a clear understanding of the topic
  • written in a clear and concise style
