Work Term Reports for Arts & Science Co-op Students

Your work term report consists of four distinct sections including the initial analysis, career research, recommendations, and final reflection.

Initial Analysis
After the first month of your work term we would like you to reflect on your first few weeks in the position. In your initial analysis, please include the following:

  • Describe your major responsibilities, projects and assignments
  • Analyze the learning objectives you created at the beginning of your work term and reflect on the progress you have made in attaining each of them. In creating your learning objectives, please use the learning objectives form and follow the learning objectives guidelines as a resource
  • Discuss skills you have started to develop or will be developing through this work term
  • Explain any challenges you are experiencing or observations about the work environment
  • Assess the relationship between the work you are doing and your academic program and/or career interests

Submit your initial analysis and learning objectives by email to your co-op co-ordinator at the end of your first month of work. Your analysis should be two to three pages in length; please list the learning objectives on a separate page. Plan to incorporate the analysis and learning objectives into your final work term report. Your co-ordinator will contact you between mid-June and late July to schedule a work term visit, during which you will discuss your learning objectives and overall experience in greater detail.
