Applying to Job Postings

Please follow the deadline listed on the online job posting on Navigator.  We normally post jobs for two days.

For jobs requiring you to apply electronically through Navigator:

  • Save your resume as one document in Word. (In the file name, include your name, the company name, and the job posting number.) Then save the document as an Adobe pdf.

  • Save your cover letter in Word. (In the file name, include your name, the company name, and the job posting number.) Then, save the document as an Adobe pdf. (Note: Navigator's PDF converter may not be available during peak periods. If you have a problem converting your .doc or .docx to .pdf in Navigator, save your document as a .pdf before you upload it.)

  • Upload your application to Navigator.

  • Create an application package. (Some students report that they have not been able to create application packages when using Firefox or other browsers. Please use Internet Explorer.)

  • Select your application document from the drop-down list at the bottom of the job posting and click "Apply on-line."

For jobs that require you to apply through the company’s website:

  • Please follow the directions the company’s website provides. Paste all the requested material (cover letter, resume, grades) into one document before submitting it through the website.
  • You must click on the “I intend to apply” button, before the application deadline, every time you apply this way.

For jobs requiring you to submit a hard (print) copy of application material to the Co-op Office:

  • Print your transcript from Navigator (for winter 2010.)
  • Staple together your cover letter, resume, and transcript.
  • Write the job posting number on the top sheet, in pencil.
  • Place the application into the appropriate drop box in the Co-op Office by 4:30 p.m. on the day of the deadline.
  • You must click on the “I intend to apply” button, before the application deadline, every time you apply this way.

Integrity:

Please help us preserve the integrity of the co-op process.

  • Do not help students who are not in Laurier Co-op obtain access to co-op job postings.
  • Do not refer any students directly to participating employers for any type of potential positions.
