Business and Mathematics Co-op |
|
The Academic Program:
Students in the double degree program in Business Administration and Mathematics program take business courses at Laurier and math courses at the University of Waterloo. In senior years, students may specialize in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics and Optimization, Mathematical Finance, Operations Research, Pure Mathematics or Statistics.
All students in the double degree programs at Laurier and Waterloo begin to participate in co-op in their second year, and most pursue work terms in the fall and winter. Students complete both degrees within five years.
Most Laurier students will have their first and second work terms from January to April and their third from September to December.
View a sample course outline as a PDF. Look for a course outline under "School of Business and Economics" in the Undergraduate Calendar.
Enrolment and Fees:
An information session explaining the co-op program will be held in the winter term of Year 1, and students are required to attend workshops during orientation week in Year 2.
Students who withdraw from a double degree program and register in an alternative honours program may not continue in co-op unless they are successful in the competitive co-op admission process as outlined in the applicable Co-operative Education section of the calendar.
In Year 2, the total co-op fee for this academic year assessed in fall term. In Year 3 and Year 4, a co-op fee is assessed each academic term according to the work study sequence selected by the student.
